The question
Did you visit any colleges before applying?
Heidi - 1st year student
When I was applying to university, I went to a few open days to have a look around and see what I could find out. You get to know the students. You get a real feel for the building and the atmosphere you'll be studying in and this really appealed to me.
Helen - 1st year student
I booked my place on the Open Day through the website and I got a letter confirming that I'd got a place here just to be reassured that I wouldn't be let down because it's quite a long way to come, because I'm from Leeds. It's always better to book a place at an Open Day, rather than just turn up.
Clare - 1st year student
I think it's important to get a sense of what the place is really like, especially during term time - I tried to go when other students were around so I could get a sense of the place when it was fully working to see if that was a place I would fit in... where I'd like to go.
Helen - 1st year student
I found out the course is really great for potential, instead of just pure talent. Say, if you were weakest in dancing, but amazing in singing, they'd really work on your dancing, instead of saying no to you altogether.
