Applying
So, you've narrowed your choices down to a few musical theatre courses that you think might be good for you.
Most Musical Theatre training courses that are also degrees require you to apply through UCAS. For courses in Conservatoires (like the Foundation Degree in Musical Theatre at Trinity College of Music), you have to apply through CUKAS. For non-degree courses you usually apply direct to the college concerned (see their individual websites).
Make sure you check carefully what the deadlines for applications are, as they are different for UCAS, CUKAS (usually earlier in the autumn term) and individual providers. Some musical theatre courses have closing dates as early as October, so don't delay your application.
UCAS and CUKAS charge an application fee. In addition, most musical theatre courses will charge an audition fee. These costs can add up quickly if you apply to a lot of musical theatre courses. So you need to be very clear about what you want out of a course, to avoid wasting money on applications for places that won't suit you.
Most musical theatre courses will allocate places to successful applicants soon after auditions. You should therefore apply as soon as you can to maximise your chances - the later you leave applying, the fewer places will be left.
